Who Are You Talking To?

Think about your market for a second? What kind of person are you trying to reach? Who are you talking to?

Why is who you’re talking to, so important?  Because just as no two snowflakes are exactly the same, no two people are exactly the same.

People Templates:

Dr. Robert A Rohm, Ph. D.  has broken down the templates that people can help you communicate with your customers more effectively.  These templates break down into four distinct types.

1. Dominance

2. Influence

3. Steadiness

4. Conscientious

Dominant people are driven toward success.  They are motivated by quick results, goal oriented and not afraid to disagree with you.  When you talk to a Dominant person you MUST get the benefit fast.

Influenced people are driven by interaction.  They are people-persons.  They want to connect with you before they do business with you.  Connection and rapport are keys to speaking persuasively to the Influenced person.

Steady people have difficulty saying “no”, but don’t easily say yes.  Steady people are usually brand loyal.  When talking to a steady person, let them know, like and trust who you are before you make them any offer.

The Conscientious person is the ‘thinking person‘.  They can be described as cynical, practical, cold and task oriented.  When speaking to the Conscientious person make sure the figures and facts match up, don’t hide anything in fine print, and provide them assurances that they will be making the right decision by doing business with you.
